Popular parrot species
At first glance, all parrots are exotic, but as many species of parrots exist worldwide, there are so many nationalities for whom some birds are familiar, and others are a gimmick. What can surprise these birds? First are the coloring, prospects for developing the speech apparatus, and unusual habits.
We suggest that we start by categorizing these birds by size into:
• significant, up to 1 meter high;
• medium-sized, 100 grams;
• small ones weighing 30 grams.
Parrots are also divided into domestic and wild parrots. Although all these birds are pretty noisy, the domestic ones are quieter than the free-living ones.
Each of these categories has its own “celebrities.” They are known to many people; their images are on company logos, clothes, and food packaging. All because they are memorable in appearance and energetic in their communication.
